Sarkodie applauds KK Fosu for contributing to Ghana music

“Confidence is when you are able to compliment people without you feeling insecure”, this is one of the deepest lines Sarkodie dropped on his ‘Advice’ song. The rapper seem to be practising what he preached.

The award-winning artiste and Sarkcess music boss, Sarkodie has applauded Ghanaian highlife legend, KK Fosu for his immense contribution to Ghana music.

Taking to Twitter to appreciate the music legend, he wrote, “God bless you legend Kaakyire Kwame Fosu Aka “KK Fosu” for your contribution to Ghana music. We appreciate and ❤️ you 🙏🏿👑 Giving us timeless records like ‘Sudwe’, ‘Anadwo yede’, ‘6 o’clock ‘, ‘Number 1’( my fav ) and more! Live on 👑 #KKFosu”

The legendary musician K. K. Fosu in an interview revealed secrets to longevity in the Ghanaian creative arts industry to upcoming artists.

He said, the understanding of the genre to pursue and its laid-down structure will enable the artiste to make songs that can dominate that sphere.

He added that a visionary artiste must create pieces that will appeal to the audience years on in making songs, even when that genre is outdated.

He referenced some highlife songs from veterans including Amakye Dede, Daddy Lumba, Kwabena Kwabena, which he said can cause music-lovers to rise to their feet and sing along even when they are being played in clubs and other contemporary settings.

However, in the eyes of the highlife artiste, success and relevance in music go beyond talent, listing submissiveness to management as a key factor.

KK Fosu tipped artists to associate themselves with like-minded people who would love them beyond work relationships.

He remarked that artists must have a target-oriented team who will effectively meet up the responsibilities they have been assigned to, educating that with constant promotion, songs will be embedded in the memories of fans.

The Anadwo Yede composer also touted submissiveness on the part of the song makers. This, he said, is the key to maintaining the love fans exhibit for artists.
