Alexis Sanchez: Man Utd star’s mood after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointment REVEALED

ALEXIS SANCHEZ is still sad at Manchester United despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replacing Jose Mourinho, it has been claimed.

Alexis Sanchez was signed by Mourinho for Manchester United back in January, with the 30-year-old moving to Old Trafford from Arsenal.

However, while many believed the Red Devils were securing the services of a Galactico, the transfer is yet to work out.

Sanchez has scored just four goals for Manchester United since his winter arrival, leading to talk he could be offloaded to PSG when the transfer window reopens in January.

But life at Old Trafford could now be different following Mourinho’s departure.

The 55-year-old was sacked earlier this month with Ed Woodward finally opting to pull the trigger.

And Solskjaer has made a winning start at United, wowing fans with his attacking brand of football.

Sanchez’s Chile team-mate Mauricio Isla, though, says the player is still sad at Manchester United.

But he has backed his compatriot to turn things around.

“He’s sad, but I know he’s going to reverse his situation,” he told La Cuarta.

“He is someone who wants to succeed at Manchester United. It’s something he went there for.

“There is a reason why he is the best paid player and he will prove it this coming year.”

Meanwhile, pundit Steven Warnock believes Mourinho’s failure to get the best from Sanchez contributed to his demise.

“I wouldn’t say the board sold him short,” Warnock told Express Sport.

“They bought Paul Pogba for £90million.

“Now if you’re getting backed in the transfer market with Pogba for £90m and [Romelu Lukaku] for £75m, then no complaints.

“You’ve got Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly too, two players he wanted.

“Then you’ve got players on big money, like Alexis Sanchez.

“So he was backed but you have to look at Manchester City have done and what Liverpool have done.

“They don’t buy bad players at this moment in time. They are very shrewd.

“At the moment, United don’t seem to be doing that.”Source:www.express.co.uk
