Businessman Dr Kofi Amoah and a technical director of the Ghana FA Oti Akenteng have been mandated to manage football activities in the country.

FIFA and the Government of Ghana have agreed for the duo to constitute an interim Liason Team in collaboration with CAF to run the beautiful game.

Dr Amoah will head the Liason team with Mr. Akenteng as a member, according to a press statement from the Sports Ministry after a government delegation met with FIFA officials last week in Zurich, Switzerland.

The stakeholders after the meeting have agreed to collaborate closely to restore normalcy and integrity to the administration of football in Ghana.

“2. Pending the institution of definite interim measures for the administration of football in Ghana, the following persons are mandated to constitute a Liason Team with FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for football affairs in Ghana:

Dr Kofi Amoah (Head of Liason Team)
b. Coach Oti Akenteng (Member)
“3. The Government entreats Ghanaians, and the football community in particular, to remain calm while firm measures are adopted to sanitise the administration of the game of football in the country,” the statement added.

The government delegation was made up of the Sports Minister, Mr Asiamah, Deputy Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Samuel Abu Jinapor and the Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency Cynthia Mamle Morrison.

The Ghana FA is currently in disarray following the resignation of its president Kwesi Nyantakyi after being banned by FIFA over allegations of bribery in an undercover sting operation led by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Over a 100 referees and officials are also being investigated for various acts of corruption and bribery.
