Manchester City reach 100 Premier League points after stunning late goal from Jesus

MANCHESTER CITY reached the 100-point mark with a late Gabriel Jesus strike against Southampton.

Manchester City had already achieved the record points total, beating Chelsea’s 95 from 2004-05, but have now reached 100 with a victory over Southampton on the final day.

They were made to wait for it though with Jesus scoring with the last kick of the game.

City, who won the title at a canter, were in search of the records and picked up their 100 goals against West Ham and finish the season with 106.

They were held 0-0 last week by Huddersfield sending the points total record to the last day, and managed it right at the death.

The win puts City 19 points clear of second place Manchester United on 81 and gives them a goal difference of 79.

Jesus latched on to Kevin de Bruyne’s wonder pass before he chips Alex McCarthy to send the City fans wild.

City then tweeted a pic of Jesus celebrating with the caption ‘CENTURIONS’.

It marks the end of an incredible double-winning season for City with Pep Guardiola transforming the side into the best in Premier League history.
