Manchester City set to sign Real Madrid defender Danilo for £26.5m

Pep Guardiola is close to completing a move for the Brazilian international who will sign a five-year contract.
Manchester City are set to sign Real Madrid defender Danilo for £26.5m with the Brazil international agreeing a five-year deal.

Pep Guardiola has been a busy man in the transfer market this summer and made Kyle Walker the most expensive defender in world football when he completed a £54m move to Etihad Stadium last week.
The City boss is refusing to stop there and is providing fierce competition for the right back position with the addition of Danilo.

The 26-year-old could eventually cost City £30m as the deal has £4.4m of add-ons and is expected to join up with the City squad on their pre-season tour in America.
Danilo joined Real Madrid from Porto back in 2015 and has 15 caps for Brazil.
Guardiola was frustrated to miss out on the signing of Dani Alves from Juventus when he performed a U-turn and opted to join PSG instead.
But the City boss looks to have found a replacement – even though he refused to confirm the deal when he attended a press conference in the States.

Guardiola said: “We have many options from players coming, but until the deal is not done, out of respect for other clubs I cannot say anything [about Danilo].”
