Rice Farmers Appeal To Government for Rice Factory

The Rice Farmers Association of Sefwi Afere in the Bodi District, Western North Region is appealing to the Government of Ghana for a rice factory.

Afere rice farmers produce the highest rice across Western North but yield the lowest patronage.
According to them they said there’ve being putting in all their efforts to make the rice production at all cost but after they had done that, they don’t get customers to purchase their products which render them dismayed, discouraged and nonchalanted in the rice farming.
They added that they feel unsatisfactory to do the work because they don’t get the chemicals necessary for the rice farming.
The farmers and Rice millers appeal to the government to implement his one district one factory policy for rice factory in the Bodi district particularly Sefwi Afere to help propagate more rice for high purchase and for a better living of the farmers.
They suggest if the factory is implemented it will help reduce the overwhelming importation of rice.
