GPL: Hearts Lose Appeal Case, Set To Pay GHc10k Fine

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association have ruled against Hearts of Oak over a request to have a verdict by the ethics committee overturned.
Hearts were penalized for going against a contract with the Ghana Football Association after introducing FERO phones as their official partners to reward outstanding players of the Club on match days.
This according to the FA was a violation of an agreement with NASCO mobile who are the official firm to reward players during League matches.
The Appeals committee however quashed the request by Hearts of Oak declaring the Club will pay an initial fine of GHC10,000 imposed on them.




A statement reads:
The Committee has considered the grounds of appeal filed by the appellant and the submission filed on behalf of the appellant.
The committee found from the proceedings of the DC that the appellant was represented by NrIr. Frank Nelson, a Director of appellant and an Executive committee member of the Cia.
The proceedings which this committee has no reason to doubt indicate that the appellant admitted debility and pleaded for leniency. The Committee is further satisfied that the DC in finding the appellant liable.
The Committee however finds no basis upon which the DC suspended half of the fine imposed on the appellant.
