Barcelona’s ‘brand new home kit’ featuring Rakuten sponsor ‘leaked online’ ahead of the 2017/18 season

Barcelona’s brand new home kit has apparently been leaked online – and it’s very different to their current strip.

The jersey, which has yet to be confirmed as genuine, features the club’s new Rakuten sponsor and could be worn in the 2017/18 season.

The Catalan giants are known throughout the world for their distinctive blue and red shirts featuring vertical stripes.

For the 2015/16 season they switched to horizontal stripes, but since the 2012/2013 campaign the design has remained relatively traditional.

That could all change next season however as the kit appears to pay homage to the very design that first took to the field five years ago.

Instead of stripes dominating the shirt, the predominantly blue jersey boasts just a patch of red in the middle of the kit.

The jersey also features the club’s new Rakuten sponsor, after the Japanese firm signed a £47million deal with the Catalan’s in November 2016.
