Shackles

Shackles

Shackles
Band by chains, scars from pain
Bruise from whips, blows and canes
Crushed, hope to be tamed
Soon Pain became my name
I wailed as I called out his name
Without guilt or shame
They watched and walked away
Shackles
Band by chains, scars from pain
For years, held in fear
No more fluid for my eyes to tear
This and more I bear
I scream and wailed
Yet no one heard or cared

Shackles
Band by chains, scars from pain
Alone in my cold dark cell
As small as a mouse cage
Screaming and wailing
As my freedom put to sell
I burn with rage
And quake the bars of the cage
Slowly they fell apart.
Clearing my way
Freedom at last
Shackles
Band by chains, scars from pain
