The Black Stars of Ghana will today, Friday, 25 March 2022, take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the first leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The qualifier will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi.

Kick-off time is slated for 1930 GMT.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has called on spectators who will be going to the stadium to watch the clash to obey all the rules governing the World Cup qualifier in order to avoid sanctions from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

“The GFA consequently advises all Ghanaians to obey all laid-down safety and security measures strictly to, first and foremost, have a successful match and also to avoid any sanctions from CAF and FIFA,” the GFA noted in a statement.

This comes after CAF agreed that Ghana admit up to 40,000 spectators at the stadium for the match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The GFA had requested to play in a full-capacity stadium.

The statement added: “Meanwhile, fans are advised to strictly adhere to the designated spectator and stakeholders entry points and gates for verification of their tickets.”

The GFA has also indicated that 20,000 tickets have been sold on the e-platform introduced by the government for the playoff.
