Ghana receives additional 532,000 doses of AstraZeneca

Over 532,000 additional doses of AstraZeneca COVID19 vaccines have arrived in Ghana, the Government has announced.

The vaccines arrived into the country on Wednesday October 6.

The Government intends to inoculate twenty million people in Ghana by the end of the year.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had stated earlier that “More vaccines had arrived in the country as of yesterday. I hope that by the end of this month more vaccines will come in. Our target of vaccinating more than 20 million Ghanaians by the end of this year is on course,” he stated.

He said compliance with the COVID-19 safety and hygiene protocols and the vaccination exercise were the best ways of defeating the pandemic in the country.

He said the fight against COVID-19 was not an easy one, but “the government is determined and will continue to fight against the pandemic in the country”.
