V/R: Covid-19 fight is a responsibility for all – Ho Central MP

The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Benjamin Komla Kpodo, has called on his constituents to continue to adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols amidst the recent upsurge in cases.

The MP made the call over the weekend, when he donated some 10,000 pieces of non-medical disposable protective face masks to heads of senior high schools in the Ho Municipality for onward distribution to their students at a short ceremony held at the EP Mawuko Girls Senior High School.

Speaking on the upsurge of positive cases in the country, the MP urged students to “be very careful and always properly wear the masks, not to be under your cheeks and also make sure that you observe social distancing because the virus is real.”

He noted that the fight against the pandemic is a responsibility for all, thus demanded from the students and the public to play a part in curbing the spread of the pandemic.

The MP also called on teachers to intensify education on Covid-19 to their students, while noting that it’s part of his mandate to support the fight by donating the masks to prevent the spread.

Each of the eight public senior high schools in the Municipality including Mawuli SHS, Mawuko Girls, Sokode SHS, Ola Girls, Shia Technical, Matse Technical, Tanyigbe SHS, and Taviefe SHS received 1,250 pieces each of the 10,000 masks.

The donation forms part of series of donations the MP has made to institutions within constituency following the outbreak.

Prior to the re-opening of schools, the MP made a similar intervention by donating another 10,000 pieces of face mask to the Ho Municipal Education directorate for distribution to some schools in the municipality.

Benjamin Kpodo’s next donation is expected to cover all Universities in the area including the Evangelical Presbyterian University (EPUC), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) and the Ho Technical University (HTU).
