Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly join the Nation to celebrates the 36th farmers Day.

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly in the Western North region joined the country to celebrate the 36th edition of the National  farmers day.

The program was held at Sefwi Nkonya town Park within the Municipal.
The program was under the theme:” Ensuring Agribusiness Development In Covid- 19 Challenges and Opportunities “.

The Municipal Chief Executive For Sefwi Wiawso Hon. Louis Owusu Agyapong in delivering his address to the gathering said expect in the agric sector has prompt the assembly of some companies have introduce some fake liquid fertilizers and do not have approved certificate from the agric sector which he urge Nananom and the farmers gathered to cautious of the type of fertilizers they buy.



He continued that, the country has just one month to the December 7 election and urging all citizens to weigh the two sides of the coin and choose the right person for the nation

Hon. Louis Owusu Agyapomg said despite the deadly pandemic that hit the country the NPP government lead by his excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been able to fulfill some of his campaign promises namely planting for food and jobs, NAPCO , afforestation, Plunging, pollination and many more.
He also mentioned that about 2,500 people have been employed under direct jobs, restore of teacher and nursing training allowance, one district one ambulance and many others has been than by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Talking about infrastructure Hon. Louis made mentioned of Wiawso-Omanhene new site, Wiawso – old adiembra, Wiawso-amanfie, Wiawso – bosom osso, Wiawso-new adiembra, Asafo – Achechen road, kojina-essakrom road and many others are under construction despite the pandemic.

Ending his speech he stressed that no government under the history of this country has employed more youth than NPP government and urging all to vote 4more for Nana 4more for Dr. Afriyie he lament.

At the ceremony, Mr. Akwetey from the Agric sector on delivering his address said the farmers day, face lot of challenges in the midst of the COVID-19 but yet it has become a special day meant to honor and appreciate all farmers

He also said the selection of award winners does not base on any political, social, economic and religious interest .

He ended up by thanking the various donors and sponsors who contributed in one way or the other during this difficult times to make the programme a success.

Mr. Andrew Amoako Frimpong was named the overall municipal best farmer of the year 2020, he took away knapsack spraying machine, Cutlasses . 1 Tricycle(aboboyaa) which was donated by Chirano gold mines,wellington boot and Cutlasses.
