Offinso South presiding membership election postponed indefinitely over failure to elects presiding member After 4th Attempts.

The Deputy Ashanti regional minister hon Elizabeth Agyemang on Monday, 2, March has postponed the election of presiding member in Offinso south in the Ashanti region indefinitely after failure to elect a Presiding Member in a 4th attempts.




The Maase electoral Area Assembly member Hon Baah Emmanuel a.k.a Hon Bio polled 17 votes whiles Namong West Electoral Area Assembly member, Hon Brefo Boahen Vegas also polled 26 votes in all first and second chance elections on Monday, 2.

None of the aspirants could garner two -thirds (44) votes of the house to be elected as presiding member.

Hon Elizabeth Agyemang addressing the assembly members at the Assembly Hall, postponed the election indefinitely and expressed her displeasure about the assembly’s failure to elect a Presiding Member on several occasions.

She expressed with great concern fashion and division within the NPP Party in Offinso south and threatens to report and briefs the Ashanti regional NPP executives on the wreaking state of the party in Offinso South.



On his part, Nana Kofi Boahen 1, the Baamuhene for Offinso Traditional Council who is a government appointee for Nananom, Speaking to Kaakyire Kwasi Afari, lamented the slow pace of developments in the area this year, but attributed to the lack of presiding member for the assembly.

Nana Kofi Boahen said, the Traditional council with urgently sit around the table, to decide their actions to help the Assembly elects its presiding member to help foster development in the area.
