Akufo-Addo’s free SHS policy implementation very bad – Political Scientist

A political Science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Amakye Boateng is not happy with the implementation of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy under the Akufo-Addo led government.

According to him, the people in charge of the policy are mishandling the implementation process, making the whole policy which is a ‘good one’ look terrible.

Dr. Amakye Boateng made the comment while reacting to questions from Kwame Adinkrah, host of ‘Pure Morning Drive’ as to whether the policy has served its beneficial purpose.

Dr. Amakye Boateng said the government is doing its best in terms of education but has failed to implement comprehensive programmes.

“It is good that the government rolled out the policy at the time it did, yet it is badly implemented and unnecessarily wasting scarce resources” He added.

The Political Science lecturer revealed that, not only is the implementation of free SHS terrible but also planting for food and jobs and other policies.

Dr. Amakye Boateng cautioned the government to create initiatives that will solve problems rather than those that create more problems.
