GFA vice presidential race: Kweku Baako names preferred candidate

The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has tipped the newly elected executive council member, Randy Abbey to become the vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

“I am recommending that you put yourself forward because I think it would be a very effective team. Of course, compatibility, it’s also important. The group must be looking at compatibility and competence so that it can work very well.

“Either way, I am campaigning for you,” he said on Accra based Metro TV.

Mr Baako also had this message for the GFA president, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.

“I think the President must be very strong. I have picked up signals of all sorts of intrigues coming from the political establishment and the football fraternity and so he should just be very careful. He should look at football first,” he stressed.

Per the Association’s new constitution, the GFA executives are expected to appoint a vice president to assist the new GFA president to carry out his duties.
