UEW Vice Chancellor dragged to Special Prosecutor

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Reverend Professor Anthony Afful-Broni has been dragged before the Special Prosecutor.

According to a letter confirming receipt of a petition sent and signed by Cynthia Lamptey dated June 14, 2019 it stated that the letter from the petitioners with reference number AD/122/06 was received on June 7, 2019.

MyNewsGh.com gathered that the decision by three individuals to petition the Special Prosecutor was for him to conduct investigations into GH¢570,000 honorarium the Vice Chancellor allegedly blew in in six months.



In March this year, a group calling itself the Concerned alumni of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), have hinted of petitioning the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu and the Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo to investigate alleged misappropriation of funds in the school.

The Vice-Chancellor (V.C) of the institution, Reverend Father Professor Anthony Afful-Broni, has been accused of taking arbitrary decisions that have disrupted the running of the institution including embezzlement of funds.

Spokesperson of the concerned alumni, Victor Osei-Tutu Agyapong said: “documents are ready to be delivered to the Special Prosecutor and Auditor-General to investigate the GHc 5.7 million that has been misappropriated.”
