UCC withholds certificates of 176 students for misconduct abroad

The authorities of the University of Cape Coast has withheld the certificates of 176 students of the University after what they describe as gross misconduct exhibited by the students during their study abroad programme.

Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Anthony Afful Broni said the misbehavior of the students nearly cost the university incalculable losses and damages.

“Management has had to take a painful but good decision to withhold the certificate of all the 176 graduating students of the Department of French Education for six months. This act of misconduct engaged by our students while in Lome, Togo brought the name of this great University into disrepute.”

He added: “This sanction is as a result of thorough investigation by a duly constituted investigative committee of this university.”
