Skipper of the senior national team of Ghana, the Blackstars, Asamoah Gyan has been honoured with a doctorate.
The honorary doctorate was conferred on the striker who recently penned a two-year deal with Turkish club Kayserispor and other distinguished personalities by the Peristrofi World Honorary International Awards.
Held at the Law Auditorium of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Asamoah Gyan received the doctorate for his excellent leadership in Africa.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com, Asamoah Gyan stated the award meant much for him especially as a footballer.
” I’m happy. This award is very very important in my life. It’s one of the biggest awards I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve won so many big awards before but as a sportsman to become a Doctor is a great achievement in my life. My family is proud of me..”
Other Awardees included Reverend Dr. Gifty Lamptey, Nana Kwaku Agyiri Aggrey, Harrison Tetteh, Nutifafa Kwasi Takyi, Manfred Takyi, Enoch Sorgin, Joye Nonhlanhla and Victor Kwadjo Ademang.
