Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho issues Toni Kroos demand in Ed Woodward meeting

MANCHESTER UNITED will move for Real Madrid star Toni Kroos this summer.
The Germany international has been instrumental for Real following his move to the Bernabeu in 2014.

Kroos, 28, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, with Jose Mourinho a long-term admirer of the midfielder.

And according to Spanish newspaper AS, United will try to sign Kroos this summer.

They say Mourinho had a meeting with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward – and he’s told him to move for Kroos.

Mourinho reportedly sees Kroos as the perfect signing to help Paul Pogba shine at Old Trafford.
AS say United are desperate to keep Mourinho satisfied and they’ll make a great offer for the ex-Bayern Munich ace during the transfer window.

Real are keen to keep hold of Kroos, who is under contract until 2022.

United’s move for Kroos comes after reports today claiming the Red Devils are still interested in Gareth Bale.
The Wales international, who is a long-term target for Mourinho, could be open to quitting the Bernabeu to get regular game time elsewhere.

Mourinho is keen to spend big this summer after watching United’s arch rivals Manchester City storm to the Premier League title this season.

Pep Guardiola’s men broke the 100-point barrier on route to their first title since 2014.
