Lionel Messi: Barcelona star ‘fears’ Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will take Real Madrid job

LIONEL MESSI reportedly fears Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp succeeding Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.
Messi played a key role as Barcelona beat Real Madrid to the La Liga and Copa del Rey titles last term.

Real still, however, were able to usurp their achievement by lifting the Champions League.

Los Blancos are currently on the lookout for a new boss with Liverpool’s Klopp supposedly in their sights.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon say Lionel Messi fears the German taking over at the Bernabeu.

Klopp has worked wonders during his time at Liverpool – even without winning silverware.

The 50-year-old has steered them to three cup finals and has also been hailed for his shrewd business in the transfer market.
Real are reportedly keen to make him their new manager due to his ‘heavy metal football’ philosophy.

But Don Balon say Messi fears his arrival because of what it could mean for Barcelona.

The Argentine reportedly feels Klopp has the potential to turn Real into an unstoppable side.

Yet Messi thinks that, under any other manager, Barcelona will continue to dominate.



Zidane explained his decision to quit last week, saying: “I have taken the decision to not continue going into the next season.
“For me and for everybody, I think the moment to change has arrived. It was not an easy decision.

“Madrid has given me everything. I will be close to this club all my life.

“But the decision, for many, doesn’t make sense. But it does to me. It is the moment to make a change. I think it is the right decision for everyone.

“I have to thank the fans for all their support and love.

“We have had complicated moments of the season, when you are not at your best, the fans push you and that made us better.”
