Real Madrid news: Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic lost for words

BARCELONA star Ivan Rakitic was full of praise for Cristiano Ronaldo after his wonder goal against Juventus.
The Real Madrid man stole all the headlines after pulling off a sublime bicycle kick in the quarter-final clash in Turin.

Ronaldo’s goal is being dubbed one of the greatest in Champions League history, and even Juventus fans were on their feet applauding the piece of skill.

And now Rakitic has heaped praise on his Madrid counterpart and his ‘awesome’ goal.

“We have to congratulate Ronaldo on his goal, it was awesome,” he told reporters.

“It is difficult to find the right words.

“Real Madrid dominated all aspects of their match and played really well, so we have to congratulate them.”



Madrid have one foot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

But Barcelona have also left themselves a huge chance of winning the tournament, beating Roma 4-1 on Wednesday evening.

However, Rakitic is not getting carried away with his side’s chances just yet.
“We do not think about Madrid, we concentrate on ourselves and how we can improve in every match, to enjoy playing together,” he added.

“I understand that people like to talk about other things but we are playing in the Champions League and there are more teams than just us and Madrid.

“It is a really strong tournament this season and we will have to be at our best if we are to win it.”
