Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona hours away: Announcement wanted this week – report

BARCELONA are looking to complete the signing of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool within hours, according to sensational reports in Spain.
The Catalan giants have made Coutinho their No1 target following Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain.

And with Coutinho supposedly keen on a move to the Nou Camp, Liverpool could be set to lose their star playmaker.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is resisting the sale of the 25-year-old.

However, Barcelona chiefs are travelling to England today to try to close a deal.

And according to Spanish newspaper SPORT, the signing could be sealed in just a matter of hours.
It is said Coutinho is about to become Barcelona’s third summer signing after Gerard Deulofeu and right-back Semedo.

Barcelona have made a strong pursuit, having already seen a bid of £72m rejected by Liverpool.

But SPORT say a final offer of £81.6m plus add-ons will be made today to close the signing.
iverpool’s owners have have already approved the proposed transfer, with Klopp seen as the final hurdle to overcome.
Barcelona have now got the green light from Philippe Coutinho, though, and the club apparently aim to introduce him this week.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are set to revive their £60m pursuit of Virgil van Dijk after the Southampton centre-half handed in a transfer request.

But replacing Coutinho should he join Barcelona will also be high on the Reds’ agenda before the transfer window shuts later this month.
