Airtel, Glo, Expresso face sanctions

Telecommunications networks Airtel, Glo and Expresso will be sanctioned by the communications ministry if they fail to extend services to Adaklu in the Volta region within six months.
According to Starr News’ Parliamentary Correspondent, Ibrahim Alhassan, the MP for Adaklu Kwame Agbodza on the floor of Parliament questioned steps being taken by the communications ministry to ensure Adaklu can access good network connectivity in the area.

Responding to the MP, the sector minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said a number of measures have been rolled out to ensure that telecom network connectivity is extended to every rural community in the country, but the services of Airtel, Glo and Expresso are absent in the Adaklu Community.
Mrs Owusu-Ekuful, however, directed that the three have within six months to extend their services to Adaklu or face sanctions.
