GPL REVIEW: Hearts lose in Obuasi while Kotoko maintains 100% record

The Ghana Premier League continued this weekend with another win for high flying Asante Kotoko in whiles defending had the woes deepened with a defeat in Obuasi against AshantiGold in week four of the league.

Berekum Chelsea recorded their first victory this season after a goal form Atta Agyei defeated King Faisal by 1-0 in the match-week four opener at the Golden City Park in Berekum. King Faisal however remain second on the table after losing their first game of the season.

On Saturday, newbies, Accra Lions also had their first-ever Premier League victory after beating Bechem United 2-1 in Accra .







Goals from new signings, Samuel Boateng and Isaac Oppong handed Asante Kotoko their fourth consecutive win of the season after defeating Techiman Eleven Wonders by 2-1. Aduana Stars run riot over Real Tamale United 5-1 while recording their first win of the season.

At the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope, Legon Cities came from behind to record a 2-2 away draw with West African Football Academy who still remain winless this season while Hearts of Oak also lost their first game of the season to Ashgold in Obuasi. Yaw Annor and Abdul Salam ensured the Phobians went home with no points.

Elmina Sharks also recorded their first win of the season after beating Bibiani Gold Stars 2-1 at the Ndoum Sports Complex while Accra Great Olympics pulled a great comeback to secure a 3-3 drawn game against Dreams FC at the Accra Sports stadium. Fatawu Ishaaku got a brace for the “Still Believe Boys” while Philemon Baffour also scored. Maxwell Abbey Quaye scored twice with Samuel Armah scoring the other for Great Olympics.

The fixture between Medeama and Karela United was called off due to heavy rains in Tarkwa on Sunday.
