Stonebwoy Tops Apple Music Platform

The Bhim Nation boss, Stonebwoy, has topped the best 10 reggae songs on the Apple Music streaming platform with his new song dubbed ‘Greedy Men’, which speaks against galamsey in the country.

The environmental-progressive song has since gained a lot of accolades from fans and media personalities, leading to Apple Music’s most streamed song in the country.

According to Stonebwoy, his new song exposes how leaders and some individuals in their quest for money engage in endangering activities that affect the environment and subsequently natives of the land. He urged his followers to pay attention to the messages in the song to be enlightened and inspired to champion a worthy cause to fight illegal activities for a better living standard.

‘Greedy Men’ was produced, mixed, and mastered by Rock Steady. It’s accompanied by a video directed by Yaw Skyface.






Jamaican disc jockey, singer, and songwriter, Popcaan, came second and fourth on the chart with ‘Silence’, ‘Firm’ and ‘Strong’ songs of his newly released album ‘Forever’. The songs produced by Dre Skill have over 52 million views on YouTube.

Celebrated dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, took the third and eighth position on the chart with his award-winning song ‘1 Don’ and ‘Be Afraid’. ‘1 Don’ produced by Beatz Vampire won the Reggae/ Dancehall Song of the Year at the just ended Ghana Music Awards-UK.

Internationally acclaimed reggae singer, Jahmiel took the fifth position with the song ‘Umeluv’ by Dunwell Productions. The classic talented young artiste Koffee came sixth with the song ‘Toast’ while Damiah Marley’s song ‘Patient’ took the seventh position.

Real Gyptian – ‘Hold Yuh’, and Lucky Dube – ‘Prisoner’ occupied the ninth and tenth position respectively on Apple Music’s top ten most-streamed songs in Ghana.

Apple Music streaming platform is now the world’s first $1 trillion company. The company was ranked second among music streaming platforms in 2017 with 34.3 million subscribers, or 17.3% of the global market (MIDiA).
