Shatta Wale, Davido In Rolls-Royce Brouhaha

Shatta Wale’s comment that, “I don’t use my father’s money for hype,” has been interpreted to mean an attack on Davido for buying himself a new 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan days after he (Shatta) has been displaying similar car on social media.

The two top African music giants have since last week been showing off their wealth on social media and throwing shades at each other.

Wale first painted Instagram white with a white Rolls-Royce, many believed is his new whip. He posted himself driving the luxurious car in the USA more than necessary.

“Only you can congratulate yourself Shatta Wale. All you pray for is progress and they don’t see it. Move forward and don’t look back, you are blessed …welcome back #KOAD #GOG,” he wrote under one of his posts with the car.

But on Thursday, Davido also posted a black version of the same car saying he just bought it. He confidently made it clear that he bought the car.

“We rise by lifting others but don’t forget to reward yourself.

WHO DEY ZUZU!! Just copped my first RR!! God is good! I’m forever grateful to y’all!! oh yeah 2021 BTW,” he also wrote on Instagram and made a lot of headlines.

Shatta’s subsequent comment on Snapchat has received different interpretations, with majority saying it was an indirect shot at Davido.

He wrote: “I don’t use my father’s money for hype, I use my own money to do my own real shit … real hustlers are real money makers.”

The comment didn’t go down well with many Nigerians who took to their social media platforms to chastise Shatta Wale.

But this not the first time Davido has been tagged with his father’s riches. Most of the things he has achieved in music are always credited to his father’s success, no matter how hard he tried to change that perception. Shatta is the latest to use it against him.
