POLITICAL VIGILANTISM CAN NOT BE DISBAND IN GHANA IF NATIONAL SECURITY CONTINUE TO EXIST, NATIONAL PEACE COUNCIL SHOULD BEWARE

Let me commend the national peace council for their immense contributions towards the protection and promotion of peace in the country, peace is something wealthy which must be protected, sustained and promoted by all well meaning people in a society.

The national peace council must take this from me once for all that, political vigilantism will be inevitable and inalienable in our body politics if the country fail to disband and scratch off our so called national security which is use by political actors to cause mayhem everywhere.

The National security ministry itself is a locus classicus evidence of Political vigilantism, it is a ministry/institution which is use by the politicians to destruct peace in the country, the national security ministry and it’s institutions facilitates, entertain and energize political vigilantees almost every day, all effort to end this political vigilantism will be brought to a total standstill until national security is merge with other state security apparatus like the police, army, and the rest.

National security is a state machinery used by politicians mostly in government to frustrate their political opponents, which sometimes leads to resistance by these opponent political parties to finally escalate violence, hence a successful disbandment of political vigilantism should start from the disbandment of the national security from the state security apparatus first.

The national security does not perform different roles from the Bereau of national investigation (BNI) both institutions carries same duty, leading to redundancy of labor, why can’t our leaders reason beyond the bar and merge the national security with the Bereau of national investigation to at least reduce cost of labor for mother Ghana?

The reason why Ghanaian politicians won’t reason with me this way is that, they won’t get the avenue or means to put their hooligans in uniform and put guns in their hands to do their bids, just like what we saw at Ayawaso west wuogon during the recently held by- election.

What the national peace council did by ensuring all registered political parties signed to the bill disbanding political vigilantism in Ghana is just a short – term bogus intervention which will not solve the problem at hand and change the status quo, it will surely not change anything, NDC and other political parties won’t seat aloof for Npp polling stations executives to be dressed in national security uniforms to torment or frustrate them, we will surely crash them.

The national peace council should think and come again with a long term solution to this persisting problem, they must look at the merging of national security with the Bereau of national investigation, so that the personnel can be given proper training, to obtain the required skills to produce what is expected of them in the interest of the country but not any political party.

How can political vigilantism be a thing of the past, if politicians are allowed to keep fixing their goro boys into national security, resourced and equipped them to be more powerful than the rest of the state security apparatus just to do their demonic and diabolic political moves for them? any attempt to think of stopping political vigilantism with the continuous existence of the national security ministry and its agencies will just be an act which I described as extreme somnambulism

The national peace council should as a matter of urgency collaborate with the council of state and the national house of chief, to advise the president and also propose to parliament to consider the immediate closure of the national security ministry and its related agencies, and merge it with the ministry of interior, the BNI and the NS, performance same role, they should be merged into one security apparatus to ensure discipline and cost of labor effectiveness.

If the above recommendations are not put in place, I can boldly and vehemently pronounce with no equivocation and doubt that, political vigilantism will stay with us and cause the country a lot, so far as party politics continues to exist.

Thank you all fellow citizens
