3 funeral firms to sue South African pastor for ‘resurrection stunt’

Three funeral companies in South Africa have threatened legal action against the pastor who claimed to have resurrected a corpse.

Pastor Alph Lukau and the Alleluia Ministries International have been in the news following claims that a dead man was resurrected by the self-styled prophet.

In a video that has gone viral, pastor Lukau is seen commanding a man in a coffin to “rise up”

“Can you see what happened? This man died since Friday, he was in the mortuary,” Lukau said to loud cheers and applause during Sunday service. “This is a sign that no matter what the devil’s done it is over. Devil, I told you wherever I find you I will kick you.”

But the said ‘resurrection of the dead’ has been widely ridiculed and condemned by many people in and around South Africa.

The latest, though, is that three funeral firms have sued pastor Lukau over his resurrection stunt.

The BBC reports that Kingdom Blue, Kings & Queens Funeral Services and Black Phoenix all claim to have been manipulated by the “scheme” and are now seeking legal action for the damage caused to their reputation.

Family members of the alleged dead man told the Kings & Queens Funeral Services they had had a “dispute with a different funeral service provider”.

They are also reported to have placed “Black Phoenix stickers on their private car” to look credible to Kings & Queens Funeral Services when they went to hire a hearse from them.

This, according to reports, was despite the fact that the coffin was acquired from Kingdom Blue.

Meanwhile, reports emerging from South African media sources suggest that the Alleluia Ministries International has said that its pastor Alph Lukau did not resurrect a dead manas widely reported over the past few days.

The U-turn follows public ridicule that has characterised the controversial pastor’s claim that he raised the dead man. Click “PHOTOS” for more
