Charlotte Osei's EC logo is 'more occultic' - Allotey Jacobs

Former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs has lambasted former Electoral Commissioner Madam Charlotte Osei and her team of Commissioners for changing the Commission’s original logo to a multi-coloured one.

Allotey Jacobs questioned the logic in changing the original logo because to him the new one which was done by Madam Charlotte Osei and her team looked more occultic.

He was commenting on the reversal of the EC logo to its original one under the leadership of the newly-appointed Chairperson Jean Adukwei Mensa.

The Commission, in a memo, directed that the original logo should be restored with immediate effect from Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

Under the subject “Restoration of Original Logo of the Electoral Commission”, the memo read; “the core values of the Electoral Commission, namely integrity, Fairness and Accountability have from today also been restored. All communications from the Electoral Commission must from today, be made on the letterhead bearing the original logo of the Commission as appears on the face of this letterhead. Reams of letterheads are to be picked up from the stores of the Commission.

“Kindly ensure that the most recent logo is removed from the buildings and properties of the Commission. This will subsequently be replaced. Let the bells of Accountability, Fairness and Integrity ring throughout the Commiselecsion. May God bless us all. Thank you”.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Wednesday’s ‘Kokrokoo’ programme on Peace FM, Allotey Jacobs stated emphatically that the old logo looked “more occultic” and so believed it didn’t represent the Commission.

“It looks more like a seal,” he further described Charlotte Osei’s logo for the Electoral Commission.

Allotey commended the effort by the new administration to revert to its original logo.
