The sorry state of the Special Prosecutor's new office

The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu and his team would have to wait at least 6-months before they can move into the bigger office that has been allocated for their use.

The two-storey building located next to the International Press Centre has been taken over weeds and filth.

Some mechanics have also taken over the compound with various spoilt vehicles scattered all over the place.

The backyard of the building has been turned into an ‘open defecation field’ sending a nauseating stench throughout the building.

A visit to the place by Citi TV revealed that the building itself needs a lot of work as the tiles in the building as well as the ceiling are rotting away.

Every surface in the facility is covered with dust and cobwebs.

The news team chanced upon some engineers from the Architectural and Engineering Service ltd who were there to determine if the facility was fit for renovation works.

Quantity Surveyors are expected to quantify the cost for renovation if the facility is cleared for renovations after which work can begin.
