Arsenal news: Unai Emery is just like Pep Guardiola in training - this is why

ARSENAL boss Unai Emery will be similar on the training pitch to Pep Guardiola.
That’s according to Stan Collymore who reckons the Gunners are benefiting from having a younger and more dynamic boss.

After a tough start to the campaign, Arsenal are finding their stride.

They are unbeaten in nine games and have looked increasingly impressive in recent weeks.

Emery replaced Arsene Wenger in the summer after the Frenchman’s lengthy tenure in north London came to an end.
Collymore says youthful coaches like Emery and Manchester City chief Guardiola will be more hands on at the club.

“When managers get older, they often delegate coaching duties and walk out with quarter of a session left to make sure everyone stands to attention,” he told The People.

“We used to have it with Martin O’Neill. He’d come out and you’d get this sense of, ‘the gaffer is out’.

“But younger coaches, such as Pep Guardiola, are out on the pitch pulling players into position when they’re doing shadow play.
“And, like Guardiola, Emery will be stopping sessions and demanding people do this and that.

“The players who have only been at Arsenal, or have been there for most of their careers, won’t have had that and it will be making a difference.

“So he is getting a lot of the football talent out of a lot of the players and they are playing well.

“But that doesn’t mean we can’t question their bottle, determination and grit because there’s nobody in a Gunners shirt who has proven they can show those things over the course of a season.
“A new voice, a new coach was always going to be able to take them forward slightly.

“But the proof of the pudding will be when they go through a bad patch of six or seven games, which they inevitably will.”

Arsenal cruised past Fulham 5-1 in their last Premier League game.

The Gunners played some scintillating football and Emery says his side are finding their feet.
“I believe in us,” he explained.

“We believe in our process but also we must keep taking confidence.

“I think we are in the first competition in the world.

“It is very difficult but we must prepare, continue improving and show big commitment.”
