Cristiano Ronaldo: Is this the real reason star hasn't signed for Manchester United?

MANCHESTER UNITED haven’t moved for Cristiano Ronaldo because they are looking to strengthen in other positions, according to Sky Sports man Dharmesh Sheth.
Ronaldo’s arrival at Juventus was confirmed on Tuesday, ending his nine-year stay at Real Madrid.

The 33-year-old, who has won the Ballon d’Or five times, has signed a five-year deal with Juve paying a £105million transfer fee.

Ronaldo has always been open to returning to Old Trafford but Sheth believes the club have other transfer priorities.

“It’s very interesting, it’s one of those with Ronaldo that when he announced after the Champions League final that there’s doubt over his future, cynically I thought it was for him to get a new contract with Real Madrid to get him the same level as Lionel Messi,” Sheth said.
“United have been interested in Ronaldo and they’ve been linked with him every single year since he left in 2009.

“He’s 33 years old, is Ronaldo the position and the player United need at this stage under Jose Mourinho? I don’t know.

“They look like they are looking at other positions.”

Ronaldo’s Real Madrid exit has created a frontline vacancy for the Galacticos, with Harry Kane among the club’s top three choices to replace him.
Bookmakers Paddy Power rate Harry Kane as a 5/1 shot to head to the Bernabeu this summer.

That makes him third most likely to be signed by Real, behind Kylian Mbappe (13/8) and Neymar (2/1).

But with PSG said to prefer to keep the two most expensive players of all-time – instead seeking suitors for Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria – the chances of Madrid moving for Kane are improving.
