Jurgen Klopp reveals how he will congratulate Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah for PFA award

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he plans to talk with Mohamed Salah ahead of the Reds’ Champions League match with Roma.
Liverpool star Salah won the PFA Player of the Year award in London last night, pipping Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne to the prize.

The Egypt international has taken the Premier League by storm this season, bagging a huge 41 goals to propel the Reds towards a top four finish and Champions League final.

Salah is set to start when Liverpool face off against Roma in the first leg of their European clash tomorrow.

And, speaking ahead of that game, Klopp confirmed he planned to hold talks with Salah and congratulate him in private.

“Fantastic. Really happy for him. He can be really proud. It was a fantastic achievement,” he said.

“I didn’t speak to him after it, he was in London, but I will tell him what I want to face to face.
“The season is not finished yet though, there is lots to come.

“I have to say when Kevin De Bruyne plays like this, it makes it even more special.

“The players know how difficult it is to score that many goals.”

Salah only joined Liverpool from Roma last summer in a club-record deal for the Merseyside outfit.

He will be facing his old team-mates at Anfield on Tuesday night but Klopp played down the significance of the reunion.

“It’s pretty normal. Players changes clubs and managers change clubs a lot,” he said.

“It’s quite special though because he knows a lot more about them than usual.
“He knows all about them and I am sure he is following their season all season.

“He became the player we have now in Rome, they were all part of his development.

“We are all professionals though and I am sure Italian defenders are famous for not having friendly games.”

Klopp also warned Liverpool to show respect to Roma ahead of their Champions League match.

Reds fans were criticised for throwing objects at Manchester City’s team bus ahead of their quarter-final first leg at Anfield.

The club were even made to apologise for the incident, which rendered the bus out of action as City hired another coach to take them home that night.

“In the stadium do it again, even better, outside the stadium show the respect we have to show
“This is such a fantastic football club and family.

“Known for fantastic atmospheres around the world, so we don’t need to throw whatever at the Roma bus.

“Please, show them the respect.

“We are only opponents on the pitch. This wonderful city, we can show everyone how wonderful it is.

“We can show that 20 minutes before the game.”
