I was a 'fake' pastor; I apologise to my fans - Ofori Amponsah

Highlife superstar, Ofori Amponsah, has finally admitted that, his transition from a secular singer to a man of God was a “sham,” adding that God never called him to be a pastor in the first place.

The “Emmanuela” hit maker made the shocking admission on the “Delay Show” over the weekend.

After churning out hit after hit at his peak as a highlife musician, Ofori Amponsah suddenly informed Ghanaians that God had called him to be a pastor. He subsequently abandoned his highlife music and later established his own church, “The Family of Faith and Love,” based at Ofankor in the Ga West Municipality.

However, Ofori Amponsah abandoned the Church later and returned to his first love, “highlife music and later got the nickname, “Pastor Alewa.”

Ofori Amponsah, who was visibly confused throughout the interview, said, he was pushed to the pulpit by some strange circumstances and that God never called him to be a pastor.

He, however took the opportunity to apologise to his fans after the interviewer drew his (Amponsah) attention to that fact, his actions and flip-flopping attitude misled his numerous fans.

“I would like to use this opportunity to apologise to the hardcore Ofori Amponsah fans for misleading them…I apologise for the hurt. God says we should forgive those who trespass against us, so I want to ask for forgiveness from those I’ve hurt along the way,” the Otoolege hit make told Delay.
