Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane admits players could still leave before deadline day

ZINEDINE ZIDANE wants to keep his double winning Real Madrid side together after a winning start to their title defence – but admits anything can happen until the deadline passes.
Real Madrid beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 with goals from Gareth Bale, Casemiro and Toni Kroos.

And despite winning the La Liga and Champions League titles last term – and already kicking off with the European and Spanish Super Cups – a number of players have been linked with moves.

Cristiano Ronaldo asked to leave earlier in the summer but now appears happy. Gareth Bale’s future is uncertain. While new wonderkid Marco Asensio is stalling on a new contract.

But Zidane hopes to keep the side intact.
“Nobody has asked me to leave,” he said.

“I want this squad as it is and I hope there won’t be any changes, but until August 31 anything can happen.”

Zidane was pleased with victory on the opening day of the season despite seeing captain Sergio Ramos sent off in stoppage time.
Zidane said: “In general we’re happy, it’s not an easy ground to come to, and they were a team who can make things difficult for you and they had their chances.

“I’m happy for the content of the game, but not for what happened with Sergio.

“I don’t like to see a player dismissed, but it’s something that we cannot change.

“I don’t know if Ramos’ card is fair, I have to see it, but I’m not going to talk about that. I lost a player and I cannot be happy with that.”
