We can’t take Christabel Ekeh on – Berekum Police

An Inspector of the Berekum Police, Stephen Dapaa has explained to Citi Showbiz why they can’t take on actress Christabel Ekeh over her recent nude pictures.

According to Chief Inspector Stephen Dapaa of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Berekum Police Division in the Brong Ahafo Region, Christabel Ekeh’s place of residence is out of their jurisdiction.

“Maybe the police within the jurisdiction where the incident occurred have not been able to lay hands on her but once it falls within the jurisdiction of the Berekum Police Division, we will work,” he told Citi Showbiz.

Eighteen (18) year-old Berekum native, Rashida Mohammed, who became popular by insulting her ex-boyfriend in a video last year, was arrested yesterday 25th July 2017 by the Berekum Police over her recent nude video.

In the meantime, Rashida who was granted bail yesterday is expected to report again today for further investigations into who really published the video.

In the video, Rashida is seen naked, exposing her genitals to the camera.

In an exclusive interview with Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Dapaa of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Berekum Police Service, he explained why Rashida was arrested.

“We picked her for an offense called publication of obscene material. You would recall that after the video there were other incidents of threats made by fans of Rashida daring people who would make comments about the video.

All those events could lead to some insecurity situation and so we needed to step in quickly, pick Rashida up and then go into the matter,” he said.

According to him, per the Criminal Code of Ghana, publishing nude photos and videos constitute an indecent exposure and is punishable by law.
