Man Utd could still pay just £26m for Ivan Perisic, Inter Milan star to force through move

MANCHESTER UNITED have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
Manchester United initially hoped to sign Perisic for just £26million this summer – the fee Inter Milan needed to meet Financial Fair Play requirements.

Inter have since offloaded a number of players to raise the £26m, meaning the Serie A giants no immediate need to sell Perisic.

But Goal claim United could still sign Perisic for their preferred price – despite Inter’s £40m valuation – with the Croatia international keen to force through a summer move.

Perisic is eager to test himself in the Premier League and is said to have swapped agents last season after his former representative Tonci Martic failed to seal a move to England.
And now the 28-year-old has reportedly informed his new agent Fali Ramadani to do everything to make the move happen – which will give United the upper hand when it comes to negotiations with Inter.

Perisic has emerged as Inter’s star man since joining two years ago, scoring 20 goals and providing 16 assists for the Serie A giants.

But the former Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg man is said to be disappointed at Inter’s lack of progression, having failed to qualify for Europe next season.

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio last month confirmed that there is interest from United, but admitted at the time there was no former bid.
“[Manchester United] haven’t made us an official offer for Perisic but their interest is there,” he told Premier Sport.

“We want to improve Inter and this is why we do not have any sellable or un-sellable players as of now.

“We know that we already have many important players within our roster like Perisic and before we decide to sell him, we have to think about what’s best for Inter.

“For me we have an as good squad or maybe even a better squad than most of the teams who finished ahead of us.

“We don’t need all that much, we will certainly make some moves but we will first have to see what our new coach will want.”
