PREMIER LEAGUE TRANSFER NEWS JUNE 26, 2017: MANCHESTER UNITED MUST PAY £200 MILLION FOR JOSE MOURINHO TARGET, ARSENAL AND MANCHESTER CITY ‘DISCUSS SWAP DEAL’

Who said transfer fees were getting silly?

The major report on Monday comes from The Independent and it concerns Harry Kane, the England striker and now captain.

Manchester United wants him—and why not, as Kane has scored more than 20 Premier League goals three seasons in a row.
But Kane is a Tottenham Hotspur player and attempting to extract that club’s most valuable players from north London is akin to a mere mortal trying to pull the sword from the stone, which is to say, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will reportedly ask for nearly £200 million ($255 million) for Kane.

£200 million.

That’s around £110 million more than Paul Pogba cost for a world-record fee. It’s around £70 million more than the sum Real Madrid will probably spend on Kylian Mbappe from A.S. Monaco this summer.

It’s crazy, even for Croesus. Time for Jose to move onto other targets.

While United could be forced to empty every single one of its deep and abundant pockets if it wants to sign a top striker this summer, Arsenal and Manchester City could get theirs for free.

Okay, not really. But they won’t have to exchange any money, according to the Daily Star, which claims the two clubs are going to try and exchange Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero.

That would be one of the most prominent swap deals ever – at the best of times, they are hard to pull off – and this one seems especially fraught with difficulty.

We know Pep Guardiola and Sanchez would make a good partnership but would Aguero really be happy to go to Arsenal? Arsene Wenger might have a grumpy striker on his hands and for all Aguero’s talent that isn’t helpful to anyone.

Chelsea has endured a frustrating summer in the transfer market so far, having been unable to add to its Premier League title-winning squad from last season.

That could be about to change, though, in a very Roman Abramovich-type manner. According to The Mirror, Antonio Conte is going to splash £100 million of Abramovich’s cash this week on Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko and Juventus left back Alex Sandro.

Bakayoko was immense last season as Monaco thrilled Europe, while Sandro is one of the world’s brightest up-and-coming left backs. That should quieten the restless denizens of the King’s Road for a while.
