Blame Tinny, Kontihene, Praye, others for decline of music industry – Emerging Act

Former member of the AMG music group, Samuel Adjanor known in music circle as Sweenity has accused legendary hiplife artistes Tinny, Kontihene, Praye and many others for contributing to the decline of the Ghana music industry.

According to the promising musician, there was no effort made by the said veteran artistes to sign on young and talented act during their peak.

“The industry is really declining and mostly we blame VGMA scheme for this situation but the reality is that most of our old artistes are greedy especially Tinny, Kontihene, Praye, Joe Frazier and others,” he noted.

In an exclusive interview with Kasapa FM, Friday, the CEO of ‘No Trespass Family’ (NTF) said the reason for the rapid growth of Nigeria’s music industry is as a result of old artistes signing new talents to their record label but in Ghana the veteran musicians who should have signed young artistes failed and are rather in keen competition with them.

“In Ghana, when new artistes are making headway, veteran artistes dislike it and they try to sabotage you. There are so many artistes who envy the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, EL and other musicians because when they were making the hit songs those young artistes (Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, EL etc.) were nowhere to be found.

“If by the grace of God all these greedy and envious (Tinny, Kontihene, Praye, Joe Frazier) artistes are no more and we now have new good artistes but they still want to comeback into the music scene again. For me I’ve not seen any past ruler whose still want to come back to rule again, it’s impossible. For Tinny, Kontihene, Praye, Joe Frazier and others, I plead with them to stop doing music,” Sweenity told Kasapa FM.

Sweenity is currently promoting his latest and second single ‘Fa Ma no’.
