Boxing news: Jarrell Miller breaks silence after THIRD failed test – ‘I messed up’

JARRELL MILLER has broken his silence after his world heavyweight title fight against Anthony Joshua was cancelled, after the former failed two drugs tests.
The American heavyweight was set to face off against Anthony Joshua for the latter’s WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world titles on June 1, but has now been denied a licence.

That was after Miller failed a VADA test for banned substances – namely GW1516 – and was subsequently denied a boxing licence from the New York State Athletic Commission.

On Friday, promoter of Joshua Eddie Hearn confirmed that a second test had come back positive for banned substances, with the star apparently testing positive for HGH [human growth hormone] in the second test.
Late on Friday night, Dan Rafael of ESPN reported that Miller had failed a third test for EPO and GW1516.
Less than an hour later, Miller broke his silence on the cancelled fight, and admitted responsibility.

Speaking on Instagram, Miller spoke directly to his fans, friends and family, but did not address Joshua.

He opened by saying: “This is your boy Big Baby Miller here.

“There’s a lot to be said right now, I’ll get right to it now.
“I messed up. I messed up. I made a bad call.

“There were a lot of ways to handle a situation, and I handled it wrongly and now I’m paying the price for it.

“I missed out on a big opportunity, and I’m hurting inside.

“My heart is bleeding right now, I hurt my family, my friends, my team, my supporters, but most importantly I’m going to own up to it, deal with it, and I’m going to come back better and I’m humbled by the experience.
“I understand how to handle certain things, and I’m going to leave it at that.

“I love you guys and I appreciate you guys, as fighters we go through a lot and I don’t want to make it a bad thing for ourselves.

“It’s time to get right and do right, and I thank you guys all and I appreciate it.”

Joshua’s next opponent will be announced next week, according to Hearn.
