THE ONGOING CONCESSIONS TO PRIVATIZE THE ELECTRICITY COMPANY OF GHANA, AN ACT OF HYPOCRISY, NPP SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO THE NDC

It very sad and disgraceful for government of today to consider the privatization of the electricity company of Ghana, where foreign companies are going to dominate as shareholders, after all the claims of having the men then in opposition.

The running mate and the current vice president of the republic of Ghana chastised the NDC John Mahama led administration for taking same decision of privatizing the ECG by giving mouth watering economic gymnastics to justify himself.

Today, it is amazing how those economic jargons and gymnastics has just escaped the vice president within two years in government and sat to allow his insensitive government to engage in concession on how to indirectly sell the electricity company of the republic of Ghana for 25 years to companies in South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America and many other countries.

*If Ghana has attained 60 years of independence which was celebrated recently with billions of dollars and cedis and can not manage an important company like that of the ECG, then the country deserve to be colonize again*

The NPP government dragged the then NDC administration to court for a decisions took then to privatized this same electricity company, today information and records has it clear that, there is an ongoing concessions to privatize the electricity company of Ghana where foreign companies like Africa infrastructure investment managers in South Africa, total utilities management services, power meter techniques, Actis GP LLP in UK, CDC group also in UK and thelios power/ orgone development LLC, CMF global/pike corporate and new generation power international all in USA have showed interest and are considering to be shareholders of the electricity company of Ghana.

It is very hypocritical for government of today to consider the privatization of electricity company of Ghana after dragging the NDC to court for same decision.

It is only in Ghana that a whole ministry is created for science and technology without bringing any innovation and inventions, the ministry of science and innovation abysmally failed to train human capital to convert our local waste to generate energy, and also failed to identify talents and promote them, these are major reasons why we have problems with our energy systems all the time as a country.

If the Nana Addo led Npp government then in opposition can challenged the NDC in the law court concerning the privatization of electricity company of Ghana and today concede ideas of how to privatize this same electricity company, then the NDC has been vindicated once again and deserve an unqualified apology from the NPP and also to the entire Ghanaian people.

The NPP then claimed the PURC has been denied of it’s constitutional mandate, today the president of the republic of Ghana, all the time gives directives to the PURC as to how to carry out their constitutional mandate, government is providing guidelines for the PURC to comply in the concessions ongoing to privatize the ECG, But the NPP will tell me the above tyrannical orders given to the PURC have not denied of their constitutional mandate, sad.

It is very funny and unfortunate that, all the good initiatives of the NDC which was condemned by the NPP is what they prioritized so much today.

I will finally end here by calling on the leadership of the NPP and the government to render an unqualified apology for misleading the Ghanaian people concerning the privatization of the electricity company of Ghana then in opposition, as they have now realized the need for it.

Thank you all
