World’s first all-inclusive Supply Chain Compendium to be officially launched in Ghana

Africa’s first ever appointed professor extraordinaire for supply and value chain management, Prof. Douglas Boateng, is set to launch the world’s most-sought-after Supply Chain Management (SCM) compendium on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Labadi Beach Hotel.

The Second Edition of the book titled “Executive Insight Series: Compendium of Supply Chain Management Terms” contains thousands of definitions to help the public and private sector officials understand and apply aspects of the supply chain management thinking to their respective value chains, support industrialisation and competitiveness, and improve service delivery quality.

Commenting ahead of the launch of the over 900-page book, Prof. Boateng said “It’s a quick and easy reference to important supply chain management terms and definitions for all functional specific professionals: Accountants, Lawyers, Engineers, Manufacturers, Constructors, Procurers, Logisticians, Technologists, Politicians, Healthcare practitioners, Marketers, Financiers, Researchers, Academics, Students to name but a few.”



Prof. Boateng mentioned that the oversubscribed first edition proved an invaluable reference for C-suite executives, operations practitioners, policymakers and students. To date, it is still the only known ‘all-inclusive’ SCM guide in the world.
“The highly popular second edition presents an improved and updated version of current leanings in the supply chain space,” he said.

Professor Boateng is an International Professional Certified Chartered Director and an adjunct academic. Independently recognised as one of the vertical specific global strategic thinkers on procurement, governance, logistics, and industrial engineering in the context of supply and value chain management, he continues to play leading academic and industrial roles in supply chain strategy development and implementation in Africa and around the world.
Professor Boateng has been honoured with several lifetime achievement awards for his exceptional work done in the area of industrial engineering, procurement, and supply chain management in a developing world contain context and its inextricable link to Africa’s long-term industrialisation and socio-economic development

He holds an Institute of Directors Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction, and a Doctor of Engineering (Warwick).
