I’ll resign from NSS when Akufo-Addo returns from trip abroad – Nana B

Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Henry Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B has revealed that he’ll resign his position after President Akufo-Addo returns to Ghana from his trip abroad.

According to Nana B, who was few months ago elected as the National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), time is up for him to bow out of office and concentrate fully on his political job which is very demanding.

“Where I got my appointment from, I’ll go there and speak to my appointing authority very soon and afterwards I’ll officially put out an announcement.

“I’ll surely relinquish that job, God willing when the President returns from his trip abroad I’ll go to him and thank him for the honour done me by allowing me to serve under his government. I’ll even serve him much better in my capacity as the National Youth Organizer of the NPP. He said on Peace FM Tuesday.

Henry Nana Boakye a.k.a Nana B, was on July 7, 2018 elected the National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) taking over from the charismatic Sammi Awuku.

He polled 423 votes to beat his contenders Dominic Kwesi Edua, Kamal Deen and Appiah Dansah who polled 243 votes, 102 votes and 1 vote respectively at the party’s 26th Annual Delegates Conference held in Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

Ahead of the NPP Youth elections in July 2018, several people raised concerns on the possible conflict of interest with regards to the holding of both national and partisan office by Nana B.

The general fear was that, once he rises to the Youth Organiser position, combined with his current position, his services will now be limited to only people of the NPP stock.
