Chelsea transfer news: Maurizio Sarri to complete second signing after £44m deal agreed

CHELSEA are set to complete the signing of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
The 23-year-old will become Maurizio Sarri’s second summer signing, with the defender following Napoli midfielder Jorginho to Stamford Bridge.

The London Evening Standard say Rugani will pen a five-year contract worth £77,000-a-week.

Chelsea are forking out around £44m for the Italy international, who impressed last season for Juve as the Italian giants won Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
The Blues are keen to spend big to secure a top-four spot this season.

Chelsea are fully focused on domestic competitions after missing out on Champions League football last season.
New Blues boss Sarri is also likely to lose Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

The Belgium international is set to quit Stamford Bridge in favour of a La Liga return to Real Madrid.

Real are keen to spend big following Cristiano Ronaldo’s shock departure to Juve earlier this month.

The Spanish giants are also readying a mammoth bid for Courtois Belgium’s team-mate Eden Hazard.

Hazard, 27, put Real on red alert following Belgium’s third-place playoff win against England, claiming his time at Chelsea is coming to an end.

The winger was tipped to join Real last summer, however, Hazard broke his ankle, ending any hope of a deal.
