Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp wants to make announcement about one player

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to make an announcement to fans about Loris Karius, reports say.
Liverpool boss Klopp is ready to stick with Karius despite the German’s horrendous Champions League final display.

Karius made two mistakes as Real Madrid won 3-1 in May, though it later emerged that he was concussed following a collision with Sergio Ramos.

Liverpool have been tipped to sign Alisson Becker and Jan Oblak in the weeks since their European dreams were dashed.

But the Mirror say that, not only is Klopp willing to back Karius, he is also ready to publicly fight his corner.

The Liverpool boss is adamant his current No 1 WILL recover from May’s heartbreak.
Karius looked visibly distraught after the match and had to be consoled by Reds players in front of the world.

The Mirror say, though, that he has Klopp’s full support.

The Liverpool manager is aware that, if he sticks to his decision, then supporters may give him stick.

But Klopp is ready to personally plea to their better nature as he targets a Premier League title challenge.

Karius, who didn’t make Germany’s World Cup squad, is set to return to training this month.
And he will hope his apology, issued after the Real Madrid defeat in May, smooths tensions with both team-mates and supporters.

“Haven’t really slept until now… the scenes are still running through my head again and again… I’m infinitely sorry to my teammates, for you fans, and for all the staff,” Karius said.

“I know that I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down…

“As I said I’d just like to turn back the time but that’s not possible. It’s even worse as we all felt that we could have beaten Real Madrid and we were in the game for a long time…

“Thank you to our unbelievable fans who came to Kiev and held my back, even after the game.

“I don’t take that for granted and once again it showed me what a big family we are. Thank you and we will come back stronger.”
