Liverpool transfer news: Reds handed Hakim Ziyech boost by Roma

LIVERPOOL have been handed a boost in their pursuit of attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech.
The 25-year-old has been attracting interest from a number of European sides after impressing for Ajax in the Eredivisie last season.

Ziyech was expected to complete a switch to Serie A outfit Roma this summer.

However, the Italian side have since purchased Ajax team-mate Justin Kluivert with Paris Saint-Germain outcast Javier Pastore set to follow.
And according to Football Italia, this has opened the door to Liverpool swooping in with a bid this summer.

The Italian publication claims Ziyech has been exploring other options since his Rome move fell through, with Jurgen Klopp’s side firmly in the hunt for his signature.
However, Football Italia claim Lyon could yet enter the race to sign the Moroccan should they eventually sell Nabil Fekir to Liverpool.

Ziyech has been in fine for his home country at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

And despite Morocco’s early exit from the tournament, Liverpool fans are certainly excited by the former FC Twente star.

One wrote on social media: “I think we still end up with Fekir, however I am interested to see how Ziyech performs against Portugal…”
While one said: “We (LFC) should sign Ziyech. Class player.”

And another excited Reds fans wrote: “Can’t tell you enough how much I want Hakim Ziyech at Liverpool.”

Liverpool have also been linked with Marco Asensio and Xherdan Shaqiri since the deal for Fekir fell through.
