Manchester United will completely end their interest in Jean-Michael Seri once they get a deal for Fred over the line, reports claim.
United are eager to reinforce their midfield as they once again look to challenge on four fronts next season.

And Seri is among the options Jose Mourinho has considered to bolster his squad following a strong spell at Nice.

The Manchester Evening News claim United will not land Seri when Fred puts pen to paper though.

Mourinho will instead turn his attention to a more attack-minded midfielder.



Fred medical update

Manchester United transfer target Fred has arrived for his medical at Carrington.

The Brazilian is expected to complete his £40m move from Shakhtar Donetsk to United today.

Fred, 25, is in the north of England after playing for Brazil in a friendly at Anfield on Sunday.

He will become United’s first arrival of the summer, with manager Jose Mourinho keen to bolster his squad further ahead of the new season.

Four deals in the works

Manchester United are working on deals for four summer signings, according to former agent Vincent Rodriguez.

Jose Mourinho is eager to bolster his defence and midfield in particular ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

And it sounds as though he is well on the way to doing so, partly with the help of super-agent Mino Raiola.

“Manchester United are deep in negotiations and at an advanced stages for Fred, Alex Sandro and Diogo Dalot & conversation with Raiola have begun regarding Verratti,” Rodriguez wrote on Twitter.

United are also keen to get a new right-winger on-board, with Gareth Bale their first choice.

Anthony Martial order

Manchester United ace Anthony Martial has told Old Trafford chiefs to make a decision on his future.



The France international wants a huge pay bump from £85,000 a week to a whopping £150,000 a week.

And that comes amid interest from the likes of Chelsea, Juventus and Tottenham with the transfer window now open.

Martial has been in Paris after missing out on a place in his country’s World Cup squad and could head there permanently as part of a deal for Neymar.

Express Sport has learned Martial has ordered United to decide where his future lies as he targets a massive salary hike.

Fred revelation

Manchester United transfer target Fred has revealed he does not yet know who he’s leaving Shakhtar Donetsk for.

“I’m going to talk to the people, meet my friends,” he said. “I still do not know where I’m going.

“I’ll still talk to my agents to find out the reality of it. I want to focus only on the national team. It’s a unique time, the World Cup.

“We have to try to forget things from outside.”

Fred has also been tracked by Manchester City this year as they look for a successor to his compatriot Fernandinho.

Gareth Bale decision

Manchester United transfer target Gareth Bale has decided to make a call on his future after Real Madrid appoint a new manager.

Bale has endured a tough couple of years with injuries, loss of form and being cut from the team by Zinedine Zidane.

And after he starred in Real’s Champions League final win last month he issued a come-and-get-me plea to United boss Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho is eager to get Bale on-board to play on the right wing and balance his attack, fronted by Romelu Lukaku.

However, Express Sport can exclusively reveal United will have to wait on a decision from Bale until Real appoint Zidane’s successor.
