Massimiliano Allegri drops hint as Arsenal hunt for Arsene Wenger replacement

ARSENAL may have to forget all about appointing Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as Arsene Wenger’s successor.
Arsenal began their search for a new manager last month when Wenger announced he will end his spell in north London this summer.

And a wide range of coaches have been touted as potential options as the Gunners look for the man to take them back to the top.

Allegri, who’s on course to win his fourth successive Serie A title with Juventus, has emerged as one of the favourites to replace Wenger.
However, the 50-year-old dropped a huge hint that he’s keen to stay in Turin after watching his side retain the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night.
“We must win the title and then fight for the next title,” said Allegri after the 4-0 win over AC Milan.

“I have a contract with Juve and as every year we will meet at the end of the season to plan the future.

“It will be necessary to have the clarity to understand how to improve ourselves, to win back-to-back is always difficult and we must always build to try to win on all fronts.”

Allegri’s comments came just a day after former Juventus ace Alessandro Orlando had claimed he’d jump at the chance to manage Arsenal.
“The only important free bench is that of Arsenal and if they want him they will not struggle to take him to London,” Orlando said. “And Allegri would not miss such an opportunity.

“In Turin, instead of Allegri, I would see [Maurizio] Sarri well. He is an intriguing character.”

Arsenal could turn to Allegri’s compatriot Carlo Ancelotti if he opts to stay with Juventus.

Luis Enrique is another option, but the former Barcelona boss is demanding big money to take his next job in management.
