Man Utd transfer news: Ashley Young talks Old Trafford future

ASHLEY YOUNG insists he still has a winning mentality despite his age.
Left-back Young extended his stay at Old Trafford in March after Manchester United triggered a clause in his contract to extend his deal for another year.

Young has made 28 Premier League appearances under Jose Mourinho this season, scoring twice.

And while he admits he’s “getting on a bit”, the defender insists he still has the hunger to win more trophies.
“I can’t say anything bad about the club,” Young told Jim White on talkSPORT.
“I’ve been there now seven years so it’s been fantastic for me.

“The trophies I’ve managed to win there as well.

“I’m getting on a bit, I’m 33 in July.

“For me I’ve still got that winning mentality and that desire and that hunger to go and win more trophies as I did when I was 21.
“I’ve still got that belief that I can still do a job when called upon and whenever the manager calls upon me, I go out there and give 100 per cent and try and win as much as I can.”

Young joined United back in 2011 after a four-year spell at Aston Villa.

He joined the Red Devils on a five-year deal for a reported fee in the region on £16million.

Young has scored 16 goals in 199 appearances for United.
